Business brokers – what do you have to consider if you do not use one?

If you have never sold a business before, how do you screen prospective buyers?  How do you keep confidential the name of your business and not identify your business for sale to a competitor by accident?  How do you price your business? If the buyer is using professional advisers and you are on your own, will you be out maneuvered and be out negotiated?  Since there is no right and wrong, you will never know if you got the best deal because there is no second chance to sell your business.
